The presentation describes the main difficulties and ways to solve them during ultrasonic inspection of welded joints of welding pipes, flanges and bosses. The possibility of using the technology of phased antenna arrays for narrowly specified welds is shown. The reliability of the control is achieved by selecting the parameters of the phased array and the scanning zone, building a three-dimensional model of the object of control. This technology can be implemented using AUGUR-ART or GEKKO flaw detectors.
Hydrogen cracking at high temperatures is characterized by small sizes of defects at the initial stage (about 0.1 mm). Such defects are typical for the oil refining industry and are very dangerous.
To demonstrate the possibilities of visualizing defects in objects with a high absorption coefficient, a series of experiments with the visualization of reflectors in a sample of CO-1 was carried out in the laboratory for the use of the ECHOPLUS. The picture below shows a photo of the CO-1 sample made of plexiglass. The red arrow shows the line along which the antenna array was scanned.
The laboratory for the use of equipment of the ECHOPLUS conducted a demonstration control of a sample of the welded joint of the eccentric pump of the drilling rig. The parts of the eccentric are made of cast steel and may contain internal defects. The equipment itself is subject to extremely intense loads and requires high sensitivity when detecting defects in the base and pressed metal. The test control of the sample was carried out using the AUGUR ART flaw detector, which supports the HEADLIGHT and CFA technology, as well as the AUGUR T flaw detector, which supports the TOFD technology.
A certificate of state registration of the computer program AUGUR-Analysis – software for analyzing ultrasound monitoring data and issuing conclusions was obtained.
On October 29, 2018, Alexey Kharitonovich Vopilkin, General Director of the ECHOPLUS, was awarded the Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation in a solemn ceremony in the Kremlin.
The third edition of the autobiographical book by Alexey Kharitonovich Vopilkin, General Director of the ECHOPLUS
Tests of flaw detectors with phased arrays for the inspection of welded joints of bridge metal structures were carried out in the ECHOPLUS. GEKKO and AUGUR ART flaw detectors were used on butt, T-bar welded joints and contact welding joints of Nelson stops.
On November 7-10, 2018, tests of means for continuous ultrasonic thickness measurement were carried out. The tests were carried out at the Bovanenkovsky NGCM of Gazprom Dobycha Nadym. To solve the problem of continuous thickness measurement, a GEKKO phased array flaw detector and the CHAMELEON two-coordinate scanner were used.
The SPC ECHOPLUS took part in the International Gas Forum in St. Petersburg. Automated ultrasonic control systems AUGUR-T and AUGUR-TV were presented at the stand "Diagnostics in the gas industry", created by Department 338 of PJSC Gazprom in Pavilion F1.
