Presentation of the state award with the title of "Honorary Worker of Science and Technology of the city of Moscow" to the General Director of the ECHOPLUS, A.H. Vopilkin
On the eve of Russia Day, June 11, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin presented state awards to honored Muscovites.
Sergei Sobyanin sad that Moscow is a city that combines the highest culture, world achievements of science, industry, art, sets new trends not only for our country, but also for the whole world.
For the successes and outstanding scientific and technical achievements, Sergei Sobyanin presented an honorary award to Alexey Kharitonovich Vopilkin, a native Muscovite, General Director of the ECHOPLUS Research and Production Center, who made a speech in response.
Also, honorary diplomas and awards were awarded to the employees of the ECHOPLUS Company:«Dear Sergey Semenovich, ladies and gentlemen!
I represent a private small enterprise "Scientific and Production Center for non-destructive testing ECHOPLUS. We recently celebrated our 30th anniversary. Our activity is connected with the creation of high-tech equipment designed to diagnose high-risk facilities, in particular nuclear power plants, oil and gas pipelines, water pipelines, etc., uncontrolled failure of which can lead to catastrophic consequences. In other words, our activities to a large extent ensure the reliable operation of these facilities.
Before the formation of the company, I and a number of my colleagues came out of Soviet scientific institutes, where they were actively engaged in science. We have continued this tradition of developing and promoting scientific research in our company. Over the years, we have published 9 monographs with the results of our research and development, published more than 300 articles in domestic and foreign journals. 3 specialists defended their doctoral dissertations and 5 PhD theses. We consider scientific activity to be no less important, as well as ensuring trouble-free operation of industrially hazardous facilities.
I want to thank you, dear Sergey Semenovich, and the staff of the Mayor's Office for the high appreciation of our modest work and assure you that in the future we will actively promote domestic science, create the most modern technology.
In conclusion, if I may, I would like to say a few words not on the topic of our meeting today. I have been studying, living and working in Moscow for more than half a century. I saw it in different years - both in Soviet times, and in the years of perestroika, and in the years of mass dot development, and experienced for myself how hard it was for Muscovites to live in such a huge, not very well-equipped city. But in recent years Moscow has changed dramatically, we all see how completely different the city has become, with beautiful streets, parks, squares, courtyards, numerous transport interchanges, metro stations. In such a city you want to live and work for the benefit of the country and the city. On behalf of all residents of the Strogino microdistrict, where I live and work (and I consider this area the most well-maintained and beautiful), I want to express my great gratitude to you personally and the entire staff of the City Hall for the gigantic efforts that you are making for us residents of Moscow.»
