Ultrasonic inspection of welded joints by the TOFD method to assess wear and non-filling of the root

Object of control

The laboratory for the use of equipment of SPC ECHOPLUS conducted a demonstration inspection of a test sample of a welded joint with wear defects of the seam root.

The sample was cut from a pipe rejected according to thickness measurement data and contains real defects that were formed as a result of leaching of the seam root by the working medium.

The possibility of measuring the thickness change in the test sample "for thickness measurement" using the TOFD method was investigated.
