Methods of continuous thickness measurement for Leningrad NPP have been certified
The SPC ECHOPLUS together with Dekra (Sweden) and Tecnatom (Spain) have certified methods and equipment for performing continuous ultrasonic thickness measurement for NPP. The object of control is perlite feedwater pipelines with an external diameter of 159 – 426 mm and a wall thickness of 5.5 – 60 mm.
An example of a map of the thickness of the base metal of a pipeline section with horizontally and vertically oriented grooves (No. 1-7) with depths from 3 to 9 mm is shown in Fig.1.
The measurements were carried out in the headlight mode according to the linear scanning scheme with an input angle of 0° (Fig. 2).
