Determination of the type of reflector from the image reconstructed from echo signals measured by ultrasonic antenna arrays

The application of the digital image focusing (DFA) method to determine the type of detected reflectors is considered. To do this, two antenna arrays are used, located on opposite sides of the reflector, with the help of which echo signals are recorded through three acoustic channels in the double scanning mode. The first acoustic channel emits and receives echoes with the first antenna array, the second with the second, and the third channel is configured so that the first emits pulses and the second antenna array receives echoes. For each channel in a single coordinate system, it is possible to restore many partial images according to different acoustic schemes, taking into account multiple reflections from the uneven boundaries of the control object, taking into account the effects of transformation of wave types. Combining partial images allows you to get a high-quality image on which the entire border of the reflector is visible and with which you can try to automate the procedure of measuring the reflector and determining its type. This approach will reduce the subjective influence of the operator on the control results. It is shown that in order to increase the resolution of the image, it is possible to extrapolate the spectrum of echo signals using the spectrum splitting method together with the construction of an AR-model of their spectrum. The results of model experiments confirming the possibility of determining the type of reflector are presented.
